Palace Hotels

Palace hotels are popular destinations with travelers who have an eye towards history and luxury. The definition of a palace is a grand dwelling such as a royal residence such as Buckingham Palace in England.

Palaces often provided a home to Head of a State or Bishop or even the Pope or other religious head.

You will find the majority of palaces in places such as India, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Some of these palaces have a rich history behind them.

India also has more recent palaces from as early as the 1990's. Some palaces that have been turned into hotels include the Palace Belvedere and the Hotel Chirmi Palace.

If you are planning on traveling abroad, you may want to look into staying at these palaces that are now hotels as opposed to staying at a more traditional hotel. A couple of the advantages of staying at one of the palaces are that the décor of the guest rooms are more detailed and are more colorful than standard hotels.

Another advantage is that the food is more authentic in these types of palace hotels. You can get into the history of the palace and the country staying in a palace hotel. The staff has been trained to answer all of your questions about the palace and the history of the country (for the most part as you can't know everything).

They dress in uniforms that befit the palace. You may pay a bit more money but the experience is well worth every penny.

You can choose from hundreds of locations all over the world. There are not too many people who can travel to places like India, Europe and the Middle East.

If you are one of the fortunate ones then take advantage of everything that country has to offer and that includes taking in the history of your hotel accommodations.

You will be surprised at how much you will learn (and a book from Frommers or the Lonely Planet won't hurt either).
